Dracula

(1931)
Well, undoubtedly the movie that started it all. Bela Lugosi's seminal performance of Count Dracula in the 1931 film set the standard for all the characterizations to follow. Were it not for him Christopher Lee might never have acted in as many films as the Count. This is another re-release movie poster that in our opinion was better than all the orginals.

Synopsis: Lugosi, in his most famous role, plays a vampire who terrorizes the countryside in his search for human blood. From Bram Stoker's novel. Although short of a masterpiece due to slow second half, deservedly rated a film classic. What would Halloween be like without this movie? Sequelled by "Dracula's Daughter." The 1999 re-release was re-scored by Philip Glass and performed by the Kronos Quartet.
