Fearless Vampire Killers

(1967)
A lot of things can be said about this movie. Director met his future wife to be (Sharon Tate) on the set. In a tragically cruel real life twist of fate, a pregnant Tate was murdered two years later at the hands of Manson family members. The stunningly gorgeous Tate played the inn-keepers daughter who falls victim to the local vampire, Count Von Krolock. The movie poster has the image of Tate about to be bitten by the Count in a bathtub.

Synopsis: Underrated, off-off-beat, and deliberately campy spoof of vampire films in which Tate is kidnapped by some fangy villains. Vampire trackers MacGowran and Polanski pursue the villains to the haunted castle and attempt the rescue. Only vampire movie with a Jewish bloodsucker ("Boy, have you got the wrong vampire," he proclaims to a maiden thrusting a crucifix at him). Inside the castle, Polanski is chased by the count's gay vampire son. Highlight is the vampire ball with a wonderful mirror scene. Many other amusing moments.
