Synopsis: | Director Ratner and stars Tucker and Chan all reteam for the sequel to their $250 million 1998 comedy. Det. Carter (Tucker) travels to Hong Kong with his new buddy, Det. Lee (Chan), where they get involved in a criminal conspiracy. The jokes aren't as funny or fresh as in the original, and that situation isn't helped by the fact that before the movie's half over you just want Tucker to shut up. Chan does a fine job with his duties, which are A) continue to amusingly mangle the English language, and B) do some more of those great martial-arts stunts. He gets some help in the acrobatic martial-arts department from Ziyi, Lone, and a nice cameo by Cheadle. They should stop now, but they won't. RH3 is almost guaranteed. |
