| Synopsis: | Adaption of the popular French play. Gay Saint-Tropex nightclub owner Renato (Tognazzi) and his drag queen lover Albin (Serrault) try to play it straight when Renato's son (Laurent) from a long-ago liaison brings his fiancee and her conservative parents home for dinner. Charming music and lots of fun. So successful, it was followed by two sequels in 1980 and 1985, a Broadway musical, and a 1995 American remake, "The Birdcage." French with subtitles. |
